Expanding After School Recreation Programming

Thanks to a partnership between the City of Prince Albert, local school divisions, the Community Initiatives Fund and a donation from Cameco, children at nine PA schools (like WFA Turgeon pictured here) will see after school recreation programming.

After school recreation programming at several Prince Albert schools is expanding thanks to a donation from Cameco.

In partnership with the City of PA, local school divisions and the Community Initiatives Fund, after-school programming is now being offered at nine schools.

“Reports have indicated the after school time period is critical to keep children engaged physically and socially, and thanks to this partnership with all involved, it is great to see it at more schools, more often,” said Jody Boulet, City of Prince of Albert director of community services.

Programming was offered once a week at seven schools last year. With additional funding, services are now available at two more schools – with some offering programming twice a week.
