Athabasca education awards program: We recognize students from Athabasca Basin communities for their academic achievement. Awards are given each year to students from Grade 7 to 12 to who are positive role models in school and in the community. A monetary award and gift is given to each recipient.

Science ambassador program: Cameco sponsors University of Saskatchewan students to serve as science ambassadors in northern communities. Ambassadors bring their expertise in their field of study and promote post-secondary math and science careers while living for six weeks in the communities. 
They:

  • provide teachers and students with hands-on science experiences related to the provincial science curriculum
  • form partnerships with teachers, schools and communities
  • act as role models for youth
  • discuss potential science-based career options with the students.
