About

Cameco is one of the world’s largest uranium producers.

Our strong partnerships in northern Saskatchewan provide us with the access and manpower to mine some of the world’s richest ore deposits in the Athabasca basin. More than 75% of our proven and probable reserves are located at our mines near the basin and more than half of our northern workforce lives in the region.

As we mine, mill and explore for uranium, ensuring the safety of people and the environment is our top priority. We place a high value on our work and relationships with northern communities, employees, and elders. Our respect for the northern perspective is reflected in extensive environmental programs, community engagement activities and our ongoing work with northern people, businesses and communities.
