Buffalo Narrows Host to Stephanie Lawton Curling Clinic

Four-time Saskatchewan curling champion, Stephanie Lawton, and teammate Jesse Iles recently led a curling clinic in Buffalo Narrows.

The northern village of Buffalo Narrows is home to the most northern curling rink in Saskatchewan.

Located 500kms north of Saskatoon, the community of 1,400 people is also home to a group of inspired youth after a visit by four-time Saskatchewan curling champion Stefanie Lawton on December 19th.

"The kids really enjoyed it," said Twin Lakes Community School principal Jackie Durocher, after watching 21 students participate in a curling clinic led by Lawton and teammate Jesse Iles.

Smiles were all around the three-sheet curling rink as students learned from two of Canada's elite female curlers.

Lawton and Iles actually started their Buffalo Narrows visit by speaking to more than 40 high school students about the importance of defeating adversity and being a good citizen.

"What an awesome day," said Lawton.
